hut's hamburgers

This is the third edition of this book and while working on each of the previous books I would find myself driving by Hut’s Hamburgers thinking about the first time I came here in the early ‘80s. Somehow with each book, though, I would get seduced by some other classic Austin burger joint and Hut’s would get the shaft. This time I couldn’t ignore it. I swear their neon sign would blink as I drove by, “put me in your damn book!” And so I did. I think it’s a requirement to eat at least one burger when you visit Austin, so make sure to head to Hut’s.
